Elwood Junior-Senior High School
Renovations at Elwood Junior–Senior High School and the Hinds Career Center focused on improving functionality and extending the performance of existing facilities across the Elwood Schools campus, supporting a mix of academic, administrative, and career‑technical spaces. KBSO Consulting provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology (MEPT) design services for renovations at the Career Center, updates within the Junior–Senior High School, and improvements to the Administration Building. The project’s MEPT design emphasizes strategic integration with existing building systems, tying renovated classrooms, laboratories, and support spaces into the campus’s established HVAC infrastructure to accommodate updated program needs while maintaining system reliability and cost efficiency. Electrical improvements support modern instructional uses, including dedicated power for specialized training equipment, high‑efficiency LED lighting, and associated life‑safety upgrades. Plumbing and fire protection systems were modernized to align with updated layouts, while targeted low‑voltage infrastructure enhancements support connectivity within renovated areas. Through this coordinated MEPT design approach, KBSO delivered durable, efficient facility improvements that support Elwood Schools’ mission of fostering both academic learning and hands‑on technical education.
